At least one fourth of the adult population will experience some form of mental illness or another. When this diagnosis is made, it often shatters that person's world. Nothing is like it was before. It's hard to keep up hope for recovery and not to fall into despondency. Yet in Switzerland, thousands were in instutional care and are currently living as recovered, possibly even completely cured. In Dieter GränicherÄ's latest acclaimed documentary project, four men and women describe their battles with mewntal illnerss and reveal what helped them on their way to recovery.
'Recovery' was released as a part of the festival 'Ausnahme|Zustand‘ 2008 - Verrückt nach Leben, which is touring German cinemas since October 2008.
