ueber arbeiten

As part of  Aktion Mensch's Gesellschafter ("partners" or "shareholders") campaign EYZ is organizing 3 thematic  national film festivals. The first festival,  "ueber arbeiten" ("about work" as well as "to overwork") will feature documentaries on labor, economics and globalization. It will be launched on November 2, 2006 and travel to 80 cities all over Germany until March 2007.

The documentaries from Germany, the US, China, Spain, Great Britain and Switzerland offer a multifaceted view of the meaning of labor within our society: how we define ourselves by seeking, pursuing wage or salaried labor as well as the loss or lack thereof and what alternatives there may be; also how labor (or its lack) in our society is closely interrelated with economic developments and how globalization has intensified the interdependence with people in other countries.

"ueber arbeiten“ is organized in cooperation with NGOs, social initiatives and other groups. If you would like to organize a local screening (find guest speakers, coordinate outreach activities, mount special events), please contact us starting in mid-July at www.ueber-arbeiten.de.

In cooperation with 30 cinemas of the CineStar group, the festival will also offer special screenings for pupils and teachers and provide supplementary educational material for the films.
